Christine Semba was born in France and moved, after graduation to St. Petersburg, Russia, as manager of a French travel agency specialised in business and cultural travels. While there she started to organise concerts for Russian artists abroad. She then worked on the German culture ship "Stubnitz", a mobile cultural platform that travelled throughout Europe. Joining Womex in 2000, Christine was responsible for coordinating all programming content and is executive producer for the conferences and showcases, both for WOMEX itself and for WOMEX offspring activities, like Porto Musical, conference on Music and New Technologies taking place in Recife, Brazil since 2005.
Since May 09 she works as an independent consultant, some of the works she has just done:

- Music curator and consultant for the International Business Matchmaking for the Cultural Industries and showcase festival organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá

- Trainer for Redlat Colombia within the Colombian Ministry of Culture´s qualification programme for festival organisers

- Consultant for Sounds from Spain for communication and press.

- Since March 2010 took over the direction of the world music network Zone Franche in Paris.
