In 2015, WOMEX started a partnership with Redlat, the producer of Circulart, in order to bring the most Latin American music meeting to the next international level.

The seventh edition of Circulart, held in 2016, drew more than 1420 registered participants, a record number, from 26 countires, with delegations from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil and Costa Rica, as well as Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela – to name just a few.

Circulart, the platform for all music from Latin America, has become a space for reflection, attended by a great mix of young audience members and professionals from all over Latin America, who help to build an interesting dialogue.

Besides the conference and the showcases, a vital part of Circulart is its business meetings: via the dedicated online system developed by Redlat, over 2,000 meetings between 101 promoters, labels, aggregators and 116 selected artists took place in 2016.

From 2017, Circulart splits into two editions: Circulart Altavoz, held in Medellín and aligned with the Altavoz festival, with a focus on rock music; and Cirulart Latin America and Caribbean, held in Barranquilla.

Quotes

"So glad and lucky to have been a part of this and gain a first look and new perspective of state of music to come… One great band after another, and all the music people I met from the region were so passionate, and experienced. Hope to continue relationships formed here."

Seymour Stein (USA), Sire Records

"Circulart has become a major event, a ‘must attend’ to meet the main actors of the Colombian and Latin- American music industry and to discover the richness, the diversity and the creativity of the musical scene of this continent."

Olivier Delsalle (France), Festival d’Ile de France

"The festival is a very good opportunity to show our work with the bands of the label and also to network with relevant professionals of the industry and to make us known abroad."

Matías Saldías, label director, Mescalina
