PORTO MUSICAL

Porto Musical logo WOMEX World Tour

The ‘oldest’ WOMEX Special Project started in 2005. In seven editions, Porto Musical has become an established event with an international visibility. It is a major gateway for the Brazilian music market as well as a networking platform for music movers and shakers coming from different regions of Brazil and from different fields of music and digital activities.

Conferences, workshops, speed meetings, daycases and showcases offer many opportunities to connect in the very buzzing and unique set up of the Pernambuco’s Carnival preparations.

Its showcase festival presents leading artists and DJs from Brazil’s pulsating music scene, as well as international acts.

Quotes

"The best gateway into Brazil's independent scene, totally inspiring."

Jody Gillett (UK), Free Associates/Brazil Music Exchange

"I’ve never been so well received in a music fair as this time in Porto Musical. I do not know how to describe the amount of opportunities and knowledge acquired after having spent these four days immersed in the business of our music."

Evandro Fioti (Brazil), Laboratorio Fantasma/Emicida manager

"Porto Musical, happening just before carnival, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I want to repeat with each edition… Good music, good people, good production and great environment… Networking has never been easier. "

Ahmet Ulug (Turkey), Pozitif/Babylon
