Celebrating creativity and depicting the vast amount of musical diversity the world has to offer, the WOMEX Showcases place the spotlight on thrilling acts from around the globe. Whether they are ground-breaking new talents or established maestros, the Showcases highlight everything from the rediscovery of musical traditions to the very latest in artistic innovation.
With an annual call for proposals, open to any artist, in any country, the programme is put together by the independent and international WOMEX Jury. Five of the members are tasked with selecting the showcases, while our dedicated Club Summit curator, together with the WOMEX team, decides on the Club Summit showcases.

The Official Showcase Selection programme is created based on an annual call for proposals. Our magnificent 7-headed independent Jury then chooses the final programme. Five of them select the showcases. Rounding up a huge variety of artists, the Official Showcase Selection places special emphasis on newcomers to the international touring circut.
The WOMEX Club Summit has become a drawcard for professionals and musicians seeking club sounds and electronic music from across the world. Our dedicated Club Summit curator selects the Club Summit showcases together with the WOMEX team.
The Atlantic Connections stage will feature nine artists from the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean. This tri-continental stage will reflect the artistic talents of the Iberian Peninsula, Latin America and the Atlantic coast of Africa. Occupying a special position within Macaronesia, the Canary Islands are geographically African, politically and culturally European and act as the main port of call along the route between the Iberian Peninsula, Africa and Latin America.
Amidst the limited number of slots available each year as part of WOMEX's official showcases, offWOMEX provides an additional integrated platform for artists to present themselves and their music to the WOMEX audience attending from around the world.
