In addition to his remarkable achievements, Juan pushes artistic boundaries with his latest and most innovative project, SOMA. Juan Pérez's musical journey is a fusion of diverse influences and a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication. Born into a family steeped in flamenco tradition, he was immersed in the world of music from an early age.

At just two years old, Juan began his musical education under the guidance of his father, the renowned flamenco singer and songwriter Juan "Sombra." He embarked on his flamenco journey, learning the fundamentals of singing and percussion. At the tender age of five, he joined "Los Activos Chicos," a flamenco percussion band formed by teenagers, where he developed a profound connection with the percussion rhythms.

Simultaneously, his curiosity led him to explore the world of flamenco guitar, mentored primarily by his cousin, Joaquín Pérez, and his father. Surrounded by a rich musical environment at home, he found himself drawn to a diverse range of artists and musical genres.

Juan's formal musical education began at ten when he studied classical piano at prestigious institutions, including the Huelva Conservatory, Sevilla Conservatory, and Boulogne Billancourt Conservatoire in Paris.

In 2009, Juan's talent caught the attention of Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he auditioned and received a full scholarship, marking a pivotal moment in his career. He relocated to Boston in 2010 to pursue higher education in music.
In 2013, Juan Pérez achieved a significant milestone by reaching the finals of the esteemed Festival del Cante de las Minas in La Unión, Spain, where he was among the top four finalists.

After graduating in piano, jazz, and composition in 2015, he ventured to New York City, where he resided for two years. In the United States, Juan collaborated with a diverse array of musical artists, spanning jazz, Arabic music, classical Indian, funk, gospel, free jazz, singer-songwriter genres, and more. His expertise extended to teaching, providing lessons and master classes at esteemed institutions such as Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In 2016, Juan Pérez returned to Madrid and integrated himself into the forefront of the contemporary flamenco scene, collaborating with some of the most influential artists. He also took on a role as a professor at the Escuela de Música Creativa Madrid.
