Sonia Franco Gutiérrez is a multifaceted artist renowned as a dancer, choreographer, and actress who has graced stages worldwide with her exceptional talent. She is a pivotal member of Sara Baras' CIA, notably performing in the enthralling show "Sombras" during its extensive world tour. This tour took her to prestigious venues and festivals across the globe, including Flamenco Festival New York, Miami, London, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Melbourne, Japan, Hong Kong, Poland, Switzerland, Cervantino Festival of Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Washington.

In 2017, Sonia made her mark in the film industry, working with the legendary director Terry Gilliam in the film "The Man Who Wanted to Kill Don Quixote."

Her remarkable journey also includes being a part of María Pagés' CIA, where she contributed to the world tour of the mesmerizing show "Yo Carmen" and "7 Golpes y un Camino," performing at prestigious venues from Montmarsall to Tokyo and beyond, including the Jerez Festival, Singapore, and the Seville Biennial.

Sonia's artistic versatility shines as she joined Pedro Córdoba's CIA in 2015 to grace the renowned Japanese tablao "El Flamenco." She also collaborated with Carlos Chamorro's CIA Malucos Danza in the "SED" show premiering at the Tel Aviv Flamenco Festival.

Sonia is a creator and performer of the piece "Ser.Rana," which garnered recognition at the esteemed Choreographic Contest of Spanish Dance and Flamenco in Madrid. Her talents earned her the prestigious "Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana New York" award, allowing her to choreograph for CIA Carlota Santana and become a part of the New York dance community. Additionally, she received the Daniel Doña Artistic Residency Award and the Best Original Music award from the Tetuán District Choreographic Contest.

Currently, Sonia is a vital member of the CIA Producciones Equivocadas, where she features in the play "Clitemnestra" alongside Natalia Millán, touring nationally and showcasing her immense talent. She also imparts her knowledge through workshops such as "The Words of the Body" and "The Pleasure of Acting," sharing her expertise at the National Stage Training Conference in Cuenca and "Flamenco and Creation" in New York.

Her artistic endeavors extend to diverse collaborations, including performances at the Butoh NY UNFIX International Dance Festival, the XIX Flamenco Festival in Lagos, and the XXI Al Mutamid Music Festival in Loulé with the group Vandalus. Sonia has worked alongside notable musicians such as Gala and pianist Pablo Rubén Maldonado. She has also taken on the role of choreographer in the cultural association La Parcería, co-leading the project "De Palo Pa Rumba" with "el Cortina," the pianist of Ketama.

Sonia's talent knows no bounds as she serves as a choreographer for the Musical Impro Theater and Dance CIA, directing choreography and showcasing her acting skills in plays such as "Loser" and "Gente Natural," premiered at the Surge Contemporary Theater Festival. Furthermore, she takes center stage as both the star and choreographer of the captivating play "El Sonido de mi Locura," which premiered in New York and is set for an upcoming tour in Asia.
