Kadinelia's free-wheeling fusion of Greek musical traditions, acoustic guitar virtuosity and poly-rhythmic grooves, expertly animated with live human beatboxing, creates a space where Nina Simone meets the Cycladic Tsabouna bagpipes, and the ancient lyre reveals its psychedelic wisdom. Thanasis Zikas and Evi Seitanidou began playing together as Kadinelia in 2015, using the pentatonic scale as a bridge between Greek musical tradition, Anatolian psychedelia, Bulgarian folk, rebetika, blues, funk, rock and the shaman's quest for a state of trance. They released their eponymous debut album in late 2019. Several years of musical exploration and countless performances later, 2026 saw the release of their second LP, Eimai ena spiti, assimilating universal resonances of migratory music from the east-west crossroads at which the twain really do meet and play together, transporting timeless sounds into the present moment.
