VOU PRO SERENO is a trio composed of: Alex Sereno (tantã and vocals), Paulinho Sereno (reco-reco), and Rodrigo Tchutchucão (vocals and guitar). With more than 20 years of history, they emerged in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro, starting with a samba circle that gathered around 10,000 people during performances at the Bangu Atlético Clube.
In addition to samba lovers, many artists frequented the event, making it a must-attend and highly competitive spot. The song "Nada pra Fazer" gave its name to the samba circle, which still tours the country, bringing the best of the style.
VOU PRO SERENO has built much of its trajectory through live performances. They have recorded with many renowned names in music, such as Thiaguinho, Belo, Fundo de Quintal, Sorriso Maroto, Netinho de Paula, Xande de Pilares, Leci Brandão, Ferrugem, Tony Salles, Marcelo D2, Demônios da Garoa, Dilsinho, and Ludmilla, who is considered the group's godmother.
The group’s most recent work, "Vou Pro Sereno na Terra da Garoa", is a DVD recorded in São Paulo, a city with a significant role in boosting the group's recognition throughout Brazil. It features special guest appearances by Mumuzinho, Demônios da Garoa, Marcelo D2, MC Paiva ZS, MC Paulin da Capital, Brankinha, and Marquinhos Sensação.
The album includes unreleased tracks such as "O Jogo Virou," "Canela de Pedreiro," and "Nosso Amor É Isso Aí," as well as re-recordings like "Tô Jacarepaguá," "Pensamento Verde," "Saudosa Maloca," "A Batucada Incendeia," and a medley of "Deixa Eu Ir a Luta / Um Brasileiro," among others.
One of the standout tracks is "Levanta o Copo Aê," a collaboration with MC Paiva ZS. “This song carries the identity of our people, of the workers who enjoy a beer and samba at the end of the week. It's a mix of samba and funk, a Rio/São Paulo connection, with a catchy chorus and MC PAIVA’s outstanding contribution. It’s a song for the people, from the streets and the community, with the potential to reach every home,” says Alex Sereno, vocalist and co-writer of the song alongside Pezinho, Jonas Coronado, and MC Paiva ZS.
Alex, Paulinho, and Tchutchucão were involved in every aspect of the production, working closely with Nélio Jr., who oversaw musical production, Gabriel Vasconcelos (Century Studio) directing the videos, and their managers Nescau and Marcio Kuko leading the general direction.
