Berlin-based singer, composer and electronic sound-crafter Ganna Gryniva combines Ukrainian folklore with jazz, improvised and experimental music, both with her skilled jazz quintet and performing alone, where she can invoke the company of many ensembles by assembling elements of her voice through deftly conjured electronic sound enhancements. Ganna emigrated from Ukraine to Germany with her parents in 2002, studied Philosophy in Leipzig and Jazz in Weimar before embarking on her remarkable journey, traversing different musical landscapes, always inspired by her cultural roots. After two albums as bandleader of Ganna Ensemble, she released her solo album, Kupala, in 2023, after research travels to various regions of Ukraine, captured for the documentary Spivanka. Ever more committed to record and share her cultural heritage to international audiences, Ganna performs at jazz, folk and electro events across Europe.
