NEW ALBUM ON AJABU! IN 2024!

IROKO WITH OMAR SOSA OUT NOW!

The Bahian composer, singer, instrumentalist, music producer and researcher Tiganá Santana releases his fourth album
Vida Código by the Swedish label Ajabu!Records. The ten-track album consists mostly of Portuguese texts, but brings
also one song in Spanish, one in Kikongo, and a bilingual (Portuguese-French) song. The sound texture of Vida-Código
differs greatly from Tiganá's previous albums: there is a slightly more significant presence of electronic instruments
alongside the acoustics one (especially percussive). Tiganá, who, along with percussionist Sebastian Notini, signs the
album's production, performs playing guitar on some tracks and singing all the songs. On keyboards and accordion, is
the remarkable presence of Aline Falcão, who also expresses her precise singing in some special moments. Leonardo
Mendes participates in guitars, as well as instrumentalist Jorge Solovera (acoustic guitar). On bass, Ldson Galter gives
depth of frequencies to some recordings, establishing a musical partnership of more than ten years. In fact, when it
comes to partnership, Tiganá Santana presents three compositions in which he wrote lyrics for the tunes of Alzira E and
Leonardo Mendes. A song from their first album - Maçalê - is re-recorded. Alongside her mother, Tiganá rewrote an old
song by Afro block Ilê Aiyê, the first of its kind in Brazil.
