This duo was born from the encounter of Dudù Kouate (percussions, xalam and voice) and Simon Sieger (trombone, accordion and voice) when working in different bands with Famoudou Don Moye, Art Ensemble of Chicago included.
As the two musicians created their music, they realized they had a common longing for mixing traditional sounds into an imaginary world of personal heritage, and worldwide travelling. As the music came to life, it became obvious that an aspiration united them, coming as well from their jazz background as from their personal experience.
This aspiration is towards a spirit of resistance to a materialistic world, turning to the values of rituals, hidden in every day actions and in the secret dreams beyond. Everyone has one day invented a ritual to survive the repetition of daily routine, or to enter a state of focus. These SPONTANEOUS RITUALS are created as a tribute to all people resisting in secret, or in public.
