On stage, Michela blends authentic vocals that seem to float from the Sicilian hillsides with spoken word that presents the multi-cultural background that is true Sicilian music.
Guitarist Wilson Montouri accompanies Michela. Montuori studied the acoustic guitar in the world-renowned music center of Barcelona, Spain. He continued to develop his craft in his native Florence, Italy, where he was in demand to play with numerous bands. For the last decade, he and musician Livio Guardi have toured extensively throughout Italy and the United States performing as an acoustic duo.
Recently, Michela has released her debut CD, SONGS of Trinacria: a Collection of Sicilian Folk Music.
The CD showcases Michela’s vocals as she recreates the authentic sound of Sicilian folk music. The guitar mastery of Wilson Montuori and a special guest appearance by famed percussionist Alfio Antico round out the CD, making it a must for collectors of world (ethnic) music..
