They bring the soul of the corners of the Serra do Caldeirão (Southern Portugal) and many other themes inspired there, in their tones, in their sounds and smells, in their outward voice that echoes and transports itself. Moçoilas is an attitude, it is a soul, felt from within, manifestly affirmative, joyful and feminine. It’s a loose song with sweet, hard and simple harmonies.
The responsibility for ensuring this musical and cultural space/time – which has been handled and cared for over time by Women who assumed themselves as Moçoilas and left a little bit of themselves in it for the continuity of this project – is now with Inês Rosa, Margarida Guerreiro and Teresa Silva.
This trio of women who sing mostly a cappella, reinterprets many of the old songs and enriches them with their own energy, modifying some, revisiting others and paving the way for new melodies and new songs. The Moçoilas have more than 28 years of prestigious existence, full of adventures, successes, experiences and sharing of memories.
