“Rossana doesn’t just interpret songs — she inhabits them, dramatizes them and pushes them beyond the form in which they were recorded.”
Música Sem Capa, at the Bons Sons Festival 2026

Rossana, the stage persona of Inês Barroso, has challenged convention since day one. Classically trained on piano, the Portuguese composer, now based in London, has long sought other paths, exploring genres that range from jazz to psych-rock, by way of Latin music, Portuguese folklore and even electronic music. This unlikely crossing of influences is what gives rise to Rossana’s sound, which she herself calls psych-trad.

Rossana had already explored this eclectic territory on The Entertainer (2023), but it is with À La Portugaise (2024) that she deepens her return to her Portuguese roots, opening a new chapter in her career. It is a sound that reaffirms that heritage without ever being confined by it, speaking a universal language capable of captivating listeners around the world.

With extensive stage experience, Rossana has already taken her music across Portugal, England, France and the Benelux region, performing at major festivals such as NOS Alive (2025) and Bons Sons (2026). The next step is bringing that music to new international audiences.
NEW RELEASE 2026 — ALLIS UBBO

Following the release of her album À La Portugaise in November 2024, Rossana presents the next chapter of her journey with the creation of a new record, titled Allis Ubbo, born from a single concert recorded live in 2026.

For this show, the artist brought together a collective of musicians based in Portugal, of diverse origins and cultural backgrounds. While not all of them are Portuguese, each is actively part of the national music scene — a diversity that mirrors the very essence of Lisbon, a city shaped by encounters, crossings and influences from all over the world.

The repertoire brings together new arrangements of tracks from À La Portugaise alongside standout compositions from Rossana’s career, including songs from the EP Ao Deus Dará (2021), specially arranged for this format. Adapting the songs to this collective dynamic opened space for improvisation, listening and complicity between the musicians, giving the songs a new soul.

The live recording was subsequently edited, mixed and mastered with care to preserve the energy, spontaneity and unpredictability of the stage. In fact, Allis Ubbo documents this point of contact between different languages and experiences, carrying forward the collaborative spirit of À La Portugaise and affirming Lisbon as a living space for cultural exchange.
