Playing in prestigious international festivals through the years he became one of the main figures in the re-discovery of Salento musical tradition.

He composed the soundtrack for the acclaimed movie Nuovomondo directed by Emanuele Crialese, winner of the 2006 Leone d'Argento at the Venice Cinema Festival, and selected for the Nastri d'Argento and Ciak d'Oro 2007 awards.

His music have also been included in the movie Bellas Mariposas directed by Salvatore Mereu, winner of the Schermi di Qualità and FEDIC awards at the Venice Film Festival 2012.
