Taal Tantra
Indian Classical Music Meets Jazz from Europe

TAAL TANTRA defines music that transcends boundaries of specific styles and produces music and sounds of its defining world music at its best.

The Indian ragas supported by jazz chords and complex time cycles take you to a journey of ecstasy. The percussive syllable recitation, usage of vedic mantras, traditional and folk songs all adds dimension to the uniquely designed performance.

The individual solos by the master musicians create an ambience of surprise and ultimate listening pleasures. The vibration of gongs, chimes, ocean drums, thunder drums weave a design of divine atmosphere. In one word, TAAL TANTRA is the perfect definition for contemporary sounds and music.

Taal Tantra are:
Tanmoy Bose (tabla), Andreas Weiser (percussion), Kai Brueckner (guitar), Tilmann Dehnhard (saxophone & flute), Max Hughes (bass)

Exceptional Indian guest soloists such as The Violin Brothers from Calcutta, Debashish Bhattacharya (Shakti) or famous West-Bengalian Baul Singer Basu Dev are often part of the Taal Tantra experience.

The CD "Taal Tantra" can be found by Times Music India and a second CD "the sixth sense" which has already been recorded is due to be released soon.

Tanmoy Bose is one of the greatest Tabla virtuosos in the world and for years has been one of India's most in demand percussionist and the Berlinese jazz musicians belong to the best musicians of their generation.
