La Nordika is a Latin jazz and salsa band created in Sundsvall Sweden in 2017 with a very exclusive concept of Latin music, it is a musical proposal that seeks to position itself at the top of the Latin jazz and salsa scene in Europe and the whole world. “Sabor con acento escandinavo” “Flavor with a Scandinavian accent” is the slogan that identifies us and with which we have given it a very authentic and contemporary sound identity that evokes the characteristic sound of salsa and Latin jazz made in the 60s and 70s with a high influence of great orchestras of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia and New York. Under the direction of the Colombian percussionist Alexis Duran born in Bucaramanga Santander Colombia and who after arriving in Sweden in 2017 has been given the task of bringing together 13 of the most talented and virtuous musicians of different nationalities (Swedish and Latin) who contribute all his talent and energy on stage, inviting his audience to enjoy and catch the best of his repertoire which has original arrangements and within which are unpublished themes that intermingle like Jazz, Latin jazz and funk with other Afro-Latin genres such as the guaguanco, the son montuno, the timba, the bomba, the plena, the currulao, the porro and the cumbia.
