Artlink, Cultural Cooperation

The office for cultural cooperation artlink is the Swiss centre of competence for arts and culture from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. As such, artlink documents, collaborates with and supports professional artists working in Switzerland who are from those regions of the world and promotes intercultural cooperation.
On behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), artlink uses financial contributions from the SüdKulturFonds to support music projects from the world’s southern and eastern regions (non-EU countries). The objective of the funding activities is to facilitate access to the Swiss music market for international artists, particularly artists from SDC partner countries. Only tours and performances which take place in Switzerland are supported. The basis for this funding programme is the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, in which the developed countries committed themselves to expanding cultural exchange between themselves and developing countries.
