The capacity of human mind and his creative efficiency are transforming negative experiences to positive circumstances. Hence, human history appears to be a struggle against the nature to survive. While challenging the nature with science and technology, he is also manifesting society life and the ability to live together with the exhibition of art and cultural creations. Embracing the good and beautiful as a life pattern, art forms such as literature, music, and painting are enriching human mind and emotion and hence becoming a liberating field. Humanity attains its own universality creating art products exceeding the limitation of time and location. That is why artworks, i.e folk songs, are providing the same heart vibrations in different societies and time periods. Being a tool for expressing oneself, the music is one of the oldest art forms connecting the past and the present. Thus, this album is a strong proof of what is said. When we glance at the selection of the songs, we realize most of them are still being admiringly heard and sung, because the main characteristic of these songs is that they are speaking about the aspects of passion and struggle that belong to humanity. Whether life conditions and forms change or not, love, passion and desire continue to exist as a state of heart in other episodes. This state of heart is also parallel to the state of consciousness since while the heart is translating the language of passion, love, devotion, sharing and longing, the consciousness selects which is good and beautiful, worthy and experienced and desires to follow. Thus, the meeting point of these two states or two languages is our Turkish folk songs. They are a loud cry for separation and reunion, longing and passion that meet in the human soul once again. A journey starts with the folk songs; voluntary exiles, considering the foreign land as one’s own home and the vibrations of the heart within the songs…The inherent meaning of the words and the melody in the voice keep different emotions alive, such as sorrow, joy, delight and longing, for the contemporary man who is grown up with various cultural values, exceeding the limitations of time and location.
I would also like to mention another quality of this artwork. All the vocals in this album are well known for their other songs and performances and we all know that they receive the deserved attention and admiration as composers and performers. I deduct that the reason for them to get together for such an album lies within their heart power mentioned above. I believe that the listener will feel their joy. Let your hearts be open to these distinguished vibrations.
