Founded in October, 2015 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Asia Culture Institute is the primary organization responsible for the creation and management of content at the Asia Culture Center.
The ACC Theater aims to serve as a key platform for the creation, development and distribution of performance art with “Asia” as its core theme. The ACC Theater hosts “creative-development performances” that transcend defined genres, audiences and spaces to drive the future of the performing arts; “regular performances” that can be enjoyed by audiences of any and all backgrounds; and “invitational performances” that present high-quality performances with domestic and international repute.
Performances at the ACC take place in three theaters: Theater 1, Korea’s largest convertible black-box performance hall that can host a wide range of performances; Theater 2, a proscenium venue for theater, dance and classical music performances; and the Children’s Theater, a cosy semi-circular performance venue.
