ATER Fondazione

ATER Fondazione is a foundation whose founding Members are the Emilia-Romagna Region and 35 small and medium-sized Municipalities based in the region.

Among its main purposes, the Foundation promotes: the dissemination of live entertainment in its many forms (theatre, music, dance, circus, cinema and audio-visuals); the audience development, with particular attention to the new generations and the less favoured categories; the support to its Members in the development of activities and in the dissemination of theatrical culture; the promotion of Companies and productions from Emilia-Romagna at a national and international level.

The Foundation performs the function of Regional Multidisciplinary Network, recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture, through the programming and circulation of performances, the direct management of theatrical spaces in agreement with the Member Municipalities (currently 12) and the collaboration with them to develop several projects, in a logic of quality and expansion of the offer, integration and attention to achieve economies of scale in management processes.

The aims inspiring the Foundation's cultural policy are to constantly increase the quality and multidisciplinary nature of proposals; to sustain emerging creativity; to establish a strong link with territories, in a context of networking; to raise theatres as centres of cultural production deeply linked with the communities; to promote the regional entertainment system abroad to spread knowledge and opportunities for collaboration at an international level
