Hand to Earth is a project created by the venerable Australian Art Orchestra, which has been commissioning and instigating innovative cross-cultural meetings for more than twenty-five years. Hand to Earth brings together Yolgnu songman, Daniel Wilfred, his brother David Wilfred on didgeridoo, and Korean vocalist, Sunny Kim, with the electronic atmospheres created by trumpeter and composer, Peter Knight, director of the Australian Art Orchestra since 2017, and the bass clarinet of Aviva Endean. Daniel Wilfred is the keeper of the world's oldest continually practiced music tradition, born of and evoking the sacred earth, the stars, and the elemental forces of nature. Sunny Kim is an acclaimed jazz singer, composer and prolific cross-disciplinary collaborator. Together they form an effortless rapport that spans continents and cultures and yet expresses a deeply human commonality.
