Pedro Moutinho
He was cradled with the sound of fado, and also grew up with it. In a way, it's as if there was in him a genetic imprint of these sounds. There is really no difference between fado and the man who sings it - there's just this familiar flow, common among good old friends.
In 2019, Pedro Moutinho released "Um Fado ao Contrário", the 6th album of a long, cohesive career that speaks for itself. In 2003 he received the "Revelation Award" from Casa da Imprensa with his album "Primeiro Fado". Three years later he saw "Encontro" (his second record) being awarded the "Amália Award" in the category of Best Record. All of this proves that, in addition to sharing much talent within his lineage, he has his own particular path. Therefore, "Um Fado ao Contrário", produced by Filipe Raposo, features the typical fados, but also songs written specifically for him by composers and/or poets such as Amélia Muge, Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Márcia, Manuela de Freitas and Pedro de Castro.
Since his first record, more than 15 years have passed. Pedro has been living his career intensely, with shows all over Portugal, but also around the world. A unique path that transformed Pedro Moutinho into one of the great fadistas of the present day.
