Manganiyars are hereditary community of professional musicians of western Rajasthan, living mostly Barmer and Jaisalmer district. Sheo tehsil in Barmer is known as one of the major hubs of Manganiyar music, its surrounding villages like Kotra, Taloka Gaon, Harwa, Bisu Kalla, Jhampli Kala, Siyani, Dedariyar provide perfect settings for the development of a Manganiyar Music Hub. Dada Khan is a folk musician from the Manganiyar community of Dedariyar, Barmer. He sings devotional songs of Kabir, Meerabai, Bulleh Shah playing the traditional instrument Tandura. Being born in the Manganiyar community his musical journey has been nourished by his family and the community since childhood. He started as a vocalist and then learned playing Khartal and then finally found his calling in the devotional songs which was being performed at various temples and religion gatherings around him. He has performed in many festivals across the world including Russia, France, Australia & USA. Dada Khan and his team is known for their soulful rendition of traditional Rajasthani folk music.
