The group ‘Dhoro Ki Dhun’ (Tunes of the dunes) led by Deu Khan Manganiyar and Roshan Khan Manganiyar presents traditional folk music, using traditional instruments like Kamaicha,Dholak and Khartal. Manganiyars are hereditary community of professional musicians of western Rajasthan, living mostly in Barmer and Jaisalmer district. Both Deu Khan of Bisu Kalla,Barmer and Roshan Khan of Baiya,Jaisalmer have strong musical background. Deu , son of legendary Manganiyar artist Multan Khan Manganiyar and Roshan ,son of Padma Shri Award winner Anwar Khan Manganiyar have learned traditional folk music from their father and other family members since their childhood and became young prodigies with a treasure of old traditional songs. The other members including Bhungra Khan in Kamaicha (traditional string instrument), Illias Khan in Dholak (leather percussion instrument), Devu Khan in Khartal and Dholak are skillful & talented musicians, has been performed in various festivals. This group of young artists is known for their powerful and energetic presentation.
