Langas are hereditary community of professional musicians of Western Rajasthan, living mostly Barmer and Jodhpur district. The village Barnawa Jageer of Barmer is the main hub of Langa music with 250+ excellent musicians amoung them 70 are from youth. Salim Khan Langa, Umar Khan Langa, Sagar Khan Langa and Mahendra Khan Langa are four brothers of Barnawa Jageer and all of them are young tallented artists. Their father Nek Mohammad Langa is a guru of Langa music and being respected among all. Salim and Umar learned traditional music from their father and evolved as the most powerful young singers of Barnawa Jageer. Mahendra plays dholak and Sagar plays khartal. Samsu Khan,one of the finest Sindhi Sarangi player of Barnawa frequently joins with them in their regular practice. With a combination of traditional knowledge and contemporary thoughts the band presents traditional folk music and sufi music.
