The village of Barnawa Jageer in Barmer is the largest hub of Langa musicians. Langas are hereditary community of professional musicians of Western Rajasthan, living mostly Barmer and Jodhpur district. Sindhi Sarangi is the identical musical instrument of Langa community. The sound of this chordophonic instrument is very unique and rich. Master Sarangi players Asin Khan, Bhawru Khan and Sikander Khan along with dhol player Samander Khan of Barnawa makes a formidable quartet of strings and beats. This quartet presents traditional folk tunes of western Rajasthan in Sindhi Sarangi. All the members have travelled across the world and performed in various festivals.
