Manganiyars are hereditary community of professional musicians of western Rajasthan, living mostly Barmer and Jaisalmer district. Taleb Khan of Barna, Jaisalmer had an intensely musical childhood and launched himself into performing from the age of nine. He was born in 1980, and his father, Late Chugge Khan, started teaching him from when he was five years old. At the age of thirteen, Taleb has worked in the famous film ‘Latcho Drom’ of Tony Gatlif. He and his team has performed across the globe and appreciated for his extraordinary voice and soulful rendition.
