DJ and record label duo spearheading Afro-centric blend of ghetto house, modern highlife and shamanic techno and producing remixes of Cerrone, Calypso Rose, and Oumou Sangaré featuring Tony Allen and Femi Kuti. Initiated in 2013 by a group of likeminded DJs and musicians, Mawimbi strives to create new connections between the heritage of African of musical traditions and contemporary electronic music. As relentless and passionnate music activists, they have launched a record label (Mawimbi Records), a series of radio shows on Rinse France (Radio Mawimbi). After most famous clubs and festivals in France (from les Nuits Sonores to Transmusicales, from Concrete to Le Sucre) they're ready to take over Europe (Paleo Festival, Shambala, Rome, Manchester, Koln in 2018)...
