Balogh Kálmán’s Gipsy Cimbalom Band’s 1997 album already featured the Balkan dance mixture, which is so popular now. Since then the band consisting of the most proficient musicians of the genre have given virtuosic Balkan, gipsy and jazz music concerts all around the world.
Instead of following trends the present album, entitled „Mirage”, is the next station in the band’s journey. It’s more personal, more intense, more lyrical – would this be the point missing from today’s world music, interpreted often as an everlasting wedding? This collection of songs is the result of teamwork, more than any previous albums.
The album features guest musicians Eszter Váczi, Ágnes Herczku and Balogh Gusztáv, the last considered to be the best male gypsy singer of our days.
