The Bollywood Brass Band has been the first-call baraat band for Indian weddings in the UK for over 25 years, and have been taking our dynamic and funky fusion of Bollywood, bhangra and brass to festivals and venues worldwide for almost as long.

We play the great tunes and compulsively danceable rhythms of the most popular music in the world. We offer a uniquely London take on the genre, blending the hottest Hindi film hits, riotous Indian wedding music and Punjabi beats with jazz and world influences. With brass, sax, dhol drums and a colossal sousaphone, the BBB are one of the most colourful, joyful and exhilarating acts around.

We like to work with other musicians, and are currently touring our show with the fabulous Carnatic violinist Jyotsna Srikanth. The show features both south Indian film tunes and original compositions by Jyotsna and the band, blending North and South Indian styles and showcasing Jyotsna’s virtuoso violin against a hot brass and drum background. The resulting album, Carnatic Connection, was ranked at no.12 in Songlines’ list of “The 50 greatest world music albums of the last five years”.

Our next themed show, for touring in 2020, is a tribute to the master of Indian film music, R.D. Burman: we will offer new and exciting interpretations of his Golden Age Bollywood classics.

Alongside the themed shows, we (like everyone!) just like to party, and we have no match for our high-energy, funky stage performances. We often have a female Bollywood dancer on board to get the party moving, and can offer video screenings (the original film clips, synched to the band) as a colourful and lively backdrop.

Besides fantastic stage sets, we can offer both off-stage processional performances and (courtesy of the skilled professional educators in the band) enjoyable interactive workshops.
