The artistic creation of this group, since its foundation in 1971, embraces the most diverse genres in the cuban and latin american music, standing out ‘El Son, La Rumba, the Traditional Cuban Music, El Danzón, La Guajira and La Nueva Canción or La Nueva Trova’. This band also performs rhythms from Latin America and the Caribbean such as ‘El Merengue, El Joropo and the well-known Samba’.
The Group Manguaré has performed at several scenarios in 25 countries during its more than 40 world tours and also has participated in over 50 international events.
The wide versatility of the musicians does allow them to present a journey throughout the Cuban Music, from the most traditional themes up to the most contemporary styles, skill that gives them the possibility to reduce the number of members in order to perform in smaller places.
They also offer 'didactic concerts' with their corresponding explanations and instrumental sounds examples. It is just like an imaginary tour across Latin America and the Caribbean that needs to be both heard and seen. That's what also means MANGUARÉ.
