IVA is a Bulgarian alternative band founded by two sisters. Iva’s deep and unique vocal, combined with Elena’s unconventional lyrics and mellow tone bring their fans to different dimensions of an alluring atmospheric sound. Drawing inspiration from bands, such as: Massive Attack, Portishead, Jefferson Airplane and The Rolling Stones, IVA combines conventional structures with experimental productions.
They gained their initial popularity after Iva Todorova participated in The Voice of Bulgaria 2017. After reaching the semi-finals, Iva started working closely with her sister - Elena. The same year their first single was released – “More Time”. The single topped Radio City's BG Top 5 chart.
In 2018, IVA performed on one of the largest stages for live music in Sofia - Joy Station. The same year the band had over 20 live concerts.
In autumn, during the same year, IVA won the Best Composition Award on the Plovdiv Jazz Fest competition for Young Jazz Musicians. That evening, the band was invited to record at the studios of the Bulgarian National Radio.
In the beginning of 2019 IVA performed in Sofia Live Club together with Veselin Veselinov - Eko, Milen Kukosharov, Magdalena Petrovitch, all very well-known Bulgarian musicians. The same evening was the presentation of the new single of the band “Carpe Diem” with an animated video, directed and produced by Nikolay Todorov Todorov. The song topped the BNR Top 20 chart.
Soon after that, Iva participated in The Voice of Russia, 2019 and reached the semi-finals.
IVA participated in the Spring Festival, organized by the Bulgarian National Radio with the song "Bipolar" and won a participation in the big music festival "Radio Park Fest" in Sofia, Bulgaria.
IVA released their debut album “Beautiful Madness” in December 2020, which was co-produced by the Bulgarian National Radio. The sisters made a live promo of the album, which was a huge success and are currently planning a tour with the Vratsa Symphonic Orchestra.
