“Fairy tales”

Martin graduated from CODARTS Rotterdam (the Netherlands) with jazz piano. He also studied jazz in “Berklee College of Music” in Boston (USA) and Latin piano in Santiago de Cuba. After living around the world for many years, the last ten of which in Bali (Indonesia), Martin returned back to Bulgaria in 2020 as a keyboardist, producer, composer and dj.

Ethno venture is his latest project and sort of a reunion with the musicians he has met in the USA, the Netherlands and in his hometown Plovdiv (Bulgaria). The music of Ethno Venture is a mix of electronica, nu jazz, Bulgarian and Balkan samples, Middle East melodies, beats and percussion. Free forms, wide use of improvisation, contrasting soundscapes and high level of musicianship are some of the trademarks of the band delivered with finesse and taste.

The album “Fairy tales” was made with the support of the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria and released in April 2021 from the Australian music label Issamin Records. The songs tell stories about magic, legends and invisible worlds with titles like “The Dragon Maiden'', “Dance of the Wood Nymph”, “The Melancholic Princess”, “The Wanderer” and “The Wolf in Love”.

“This music is like chocolate with chilli peppers.” - a quote from an article in one of the most popular Bulgarian newspapers Standard, presenting the album “Fairy tales”.
