Formed in 2006 as a solo project of Stoimen Stoyanov, NOCKTERN is a Bulgarian electro-rock band producing music with different artists and bands until the first EP “No Sugar Added” was released in 2016 with a promo concert in the Bulgarian National Radio. “No Sugar Added” is a mixture between trip-hop, nu-jazz, ambient, and neo classical with a cinematic tone.
Later in 2017 the solo piano mini album of 3 songs called “Pieces of Lyla” was released - a triptych of a girl passing through states of excitement, melancholy, and harmony.
Recently two new members joined NOCKTERN – the drummer Boris Malevanov (Heptagram) and the guitar player Dido Peshev. Their unique dark pop/rock/electronica sound mix is the distinctive style of the band that evolved in the first full-length album “Scavengers” released in May 2021. The album immediately caught the attention of the audience with its transitions from dark pop to cinematic landscapes with neoclassical, industrial, and rock elements.
NOCKTERN has shared a stage with musicians like Kayo Dot, Jozef Van Wissem, Ivan Shopov, Mytrip, Theodosii Spassov, 2hennings, Dayo, and many more.
