ONE BREATH, THREE GENERATIONS

The maestro Ramazan Sesler, son of the legendary Selim Sesler known as “Coltrane of the clarinet”, perpetuates a unique style and a three generations lineage that left its mark on Turkey and the Balkans.

With live performance “From Father To Son, A Clarinet Legend”, Ramazan Sesler reveals all aspects of his instrument and leads us from fine makams to Balkans rhythms, and to festive and sometimes melancholic atmospheres of the taverns of the Bosphorus.

Accompanied by the finest of the Istanbul scene, the clarinetist features personal compositions alongside his father's cult pieces, and a selection of popular and classical repertoire from Turkey and the Balkans.

FROM GREECE TO TURKEY AND INTERNATIONAL SCENE

Music is heritage in “Sesler” family, and their destiny is that of a part of Turkey. A family history that begins in Greece then, following the exchange of Greek-Turkish populations in 1922, continues in Keşan in Turkey, then in Istanbul and on the international scene. Ramazan Sesler pays tribute to this journey and lineage with live project "From father to son, a legend of the clarinet".

RAMAZAN SESLER & JAZZ

Ramazan Sesler, who preserves a three-generational family tradition, occasionally hosts significant contemporary jazz masters in this project, bringing together Turkish and Western instruments. Embracing the tradition with "From Father To Son, A Clarinet Legend" project and evolving with contemporary dialogues, “Sesler” is a productive and influential school.
