Specialists in East African music

ROSTER: Artists include Mzungu Kichaa, Dela, Fid Q The Swahili Kid, Bongo Beat, Yvonne Mwale, Msafiri Zawose, Ottu Jazz, Ras Mizizi, S.T.I.C.S. and many more.

EVENTS: We organise a number of events in Tanzania. One of our main events is THE BEAT FESTIVAL. The festival, which is hosted by Mzungu Kichaa, showcases live music from Tanzania and abroad. The event has created a strong fan base, which provides a great platform for international artists and upcoming local artists to perform. We also organise international tours.

STUDIO: Our studio is located in Dar es Salaam. We offer high quality recording facilities and artist management during the recording process. The studio is mainly used for creative recording on project basis, however we have also hosted some entertainment - educational projects commissioned by both local and international organisations.

LABEL & DISTRIBUTION: In an ever-changing music industry we are always looking for new and creative ways for distribution and marketing. We focus on both the African and European market and are always looking for new partners. With a strong expertise on both traditional and contemporary music in East Africa we can offer licensing and co-publishing agreements with new or classic unreleased music from the region. The main drive behind Caravan Records is the wish to represent high quality music from Africa.

STREET FASHION: Music and fashion go hand in hand. Artists often set the trends in fashion. We work actively to create our own merchandise but also support other brands through mutual endorsement. Mzungu Kichaa has been working with a Danish jewellery designer to create a fairtrade jewellery line called JAMBO FAIRTRADE, which is produced in Kenya. We have also worked with local Tanzanian fashion brands such as NALEDI FASHION and KINA CLOTHING. Street fashion is an important form of entrepreneurship and cultural expression that works well with our goals to reach our audiences and create jobs.
