Danish-born Espen Sørensen, known as Mzungu Kichaa, spent much of his childhood living in Africa, where he transformed himself into a prominent figure in the music scene. The name Mzungu Kichaa translates to "the crazy white man," reflecting his unique place in the industry.

Mzungu Kichaa has become a musical star in East Africa, breaking through with his debut album Tuko Pamoja and the hit single "Jitolee," featuring local stars Professor Jay and Mwasiti. He became a judge on Bongo Star Search, the Tanzanian equivalent of X-Factor, and released the EP Hustle, featuring the popular duet "African Hustle" with Kenyan artist Dela. Over the past 15 years, Mzungu Kichaa has consistently toured and released music, amassing a large global fan base and a strong social media following that helps him sell out venues worldwide.

He has been nominated for a Danish World Music Award for "Best World Album" with Tuko Pamoja and for "Best World Track" with "Twende Kazi." Mzungu Kichaa plays a distinctive urban style of music called Bongo Flava, which blends reggae, rap, afrofusion, and traditional Tanzanian sounds. His discography also includes the EPs Relax and Hustle, as well as the albums Huyu Nani and Fade Away. He will be attending WOMEX 2024, continuing his journey to connect and promote his vibrant group to festivals, venues and the press.
