Changüí - The Sound of Guantanamo

Gianluca spent two and a half years in the Guantanamo Region of Eastern Cuba immersed in traditional changüí culture. The result was the first ever comprehensive collection including a book (with introduction by latin jazz pioneer Arturo O’Farrill) and 3 CD collection of on-location recordings. The box set - released in 2021 and co-produced with 4 time Grammy-winner Steve Rosenthal (Alan Lomax & Erroll Garner) - has entered many “Best Of 2021” listings in international publications, received 4 and 5 star reviews in international publications from MOJO, Songlines, Afropop, No Depression, and been reported on by the BBC, NPR and the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company).
