This music publication parleys a subject, the core of which lies within greater areas, such as discography, migration to America and the music life in Samos in the end of the 19th and early 20th century.
It includes sound and supporting documentation material, in an attempt to reconstruct the music image of Samos about a century ago. However, the multiple approaches to the subject with new and unknown facts and rare unpublished pictures, highlight aspects which exceed the local interests of Samos.
The publication is an innovation to the publishing approach of the discography of 78 rpm, since, in the exemplary case of Samos, the old discography represents a widely interesting research material, a source of music enjoyment, as well as an important tool for music, social and political historiography.
