Solo pianist/guitarist George Winston has been making top selling solo piano recordings and selling out concert halls across the United States and Asia for over twenty years now. His recordings help launch the Windham Hill Records label and won him a Grammy Award in 1994 for his Forest CD. In concert George plays songs from his popular seasonally themed recordings, as well as R&B, stride piano, harmonica and a few Hawaiian slack key guitar pieces.
George's music is best described as rural folk instrumental piano, and it appeals to a wide variety of audience demographics. George's Dancing Cat Records label has recorded and he has produced all the top slack key guitarists from Hawaii. To date they have released 33 recordings in this genre.
