About Manu :
Manu Desroches stands out for his unique artistic spirit. From the age of seven, he displayed a genuine curiosity for music, listening with remarkable attention and treating every instrument with deep respect. He began experimenting on his own before joining youth ensembles, already approaching music with seriousness and dedication. As a teenager, he was soon being paid to perform and take the stage professionally.
Now thirty years old, Manu Desroches has built a musical career spanning more than a decade. He has worked, performed, and toured both nationally and internationally alongside renowned Mauritian and European artists, including Eric Triton, Menwar, Linzy Bacbotte, and Theo Isambourg.
Refusing to be confined by genre, Manu explores a wide range of musical styles, from traditional percussion, jazz fusion, and blues to Eastern music and pop, while also venturing into unconventional and experimental compositions. A gifted vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, he excels on guitar, bass, and percussion.
Today, Manu Desroches is at a point of artistic maturity and is ready to share his original compositions with the world through his authentic and beautiful album, Chapter of Sound. His music embodies a universe of grace, sensitivity, and boundless poetry, creating a distinctive artistic identity unlike any other.
Among his most recent achievements, Manu was selected as one of the 10 finalists for the prestigious RFI Prix Découvertes 2026. He also performed as the opening act for both UB40 and Danakil during their respective concerts in Mauritius, further cementing his reputation as one of the island’s most promising musical talents.
