Vilddas creates music which brings together two musical cultures; the sounds of Turkish-Arabian ud-lute and ney-flute with Sami yoik. Their deep and touching songs are sung in Sami language. The Sami word Vilddas means "untamed, frisky, coltish". The arrangements vary from modern pop to an oriental sound with strong percussive flavours. Vilddas plays both acoustic music and pieces containing electronic sounds. Vilddas has been called "the Tinariwen of Finland". They have shared stages with other Sami music artists, such as Wimme Saari, Mari Boine and Transjoik.
