Damahi was formed in 2014 with Dara Darai (Bass player, Bandleader), Hamzeh Yeganeh (Keyboard and Benjo player), Ebrahim Alavi (Guitar and Ud player), and Reza Koolghani (Singer). The music of the band was shaped by incorporating elements of Iran’s regional music (especially music of Iran’s southern seashores) with various international genres. Released in 2015, “Damahi” was the title of the band’s first album. Damahi’s innovative style and its use of world music elements with the general pop format, have brought them a diverse range of fans.
