The lead singer, guitarist and co-composer in HEADLESS NATION, Patrick McMullan from Belfast, has been involved in music for more than 30 years including Irish trad., folk, rock, blues, folkrock fusion etc. His past experience includes playing in bands such as the Count Bishops and Doctor Feelgood where he recorded and toured all over Britain, Ireland, USA, Europe and Australia. He has had many jam sessions with many musicians such as Gary Moore, Motörhead, The Waterboys, Alan Holdsworth, Randy California, Charlie Morgan, Ritchie Blackmore, Peter Green and Julian Lennon. He worked with producers like Bill Price (sex pistols) and Rob Townsend (supertramp).
Patrick, now living in Budapest, is currently working on the first Headless Nation CD with the Austrian composer Herbert Hütter and other Austrian and Hungarian established folk and rock musicians. Their aim is to invent an interesting and exiting mixture of electronic, world, irish and rock music but at the same time focusing on groove, rhythm and feel. This CD will be completed in Autumn 2003 and already some of the finished tracks are creating interest in Europe. The unique blend of various musics cannot be missed and particular attention has been given to the live concert performance as the band have already performed successfully in Austria. Patrick aims to take the music of Headless Nation to an international audience and to spread the 'word and message' in the music.
