retroVISOR is an Electronic Ballroom!!!

“retroViSOR is a Colombian musical and artistic project that provides not only food for the ears, they make music visible, by synchronizing their blend of rock, electronica, cumbia and Latin styles with indigenous songs, old ballroom hits and thumping beats with livecontrolled
video”.
Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin

A very well balanced blend of sounds and visuals: porro, cumbia, rock, electronic rhythms and Latin beats with a scenographic visual set up, based on video-mapping techniques and live video that recreate the universe of each song.

One of the main interests is the support of Visuals that create an atmosphere, so the music is not only heard but also seen. Formed in Bogotá during 2004, retroVISOR is integrated by musicians and artists who have been working the fields of academic music, jazz, world music and Visual Arts. Social and environmental consciousness, a reflection on the role of technology in our lives and the contrast between the old and the new are among the themes that inspire their work.

RetroVISOR offers a DJ-VJ Set as well as a Live act. Their first CD, "Amazonas S.O.S", was listed by specialized publications as one of the top 10
recording projects of 2007 and Rolling Stone Latin America included them in their Top 50 on that year, in 2010 they published their DVD: "retroViSOR Vj Sessions”.
