Durham County Poets are a “BAND” in the truest sense of the word. Each member writes and arranges and brings something unique to the table. Be it blues, soul, folk, R&B or gospel, it all weaves seamlessly together to create a truly authentic contemporary Canadiana sound. Their fourth album, Hand Me Down Blues was nominated for a JUNO AWARD and remained on the Roots Music Canada charts for a year. They are now back in the groove with OUT OF THE WOODS, featuring 11 originals and one Dylan cover, where every song tells a story and touches the heart.

** The Durham County Poets comes in two shades of blues: As a (five piece) with an Americana Soulful Roots feel OR as a (seven piece) with a full on blues roots feel!**

"OUT OF THE WOODS" - NEW ALBUM OUT NOW

PRESS HIGHLIGHTS
"Canada’s Durham County Poets deliver a very nice fifth album which should delight the hardest-to-please lovers of fine, often horn-soaked blues, r&b, soul et al. Puts me in mind of the great Roomful Of Blues.” - Christopher Weston
— Music Republic magazine

“This is one of those albums you put on as background and then, two minutes in, turn the volume up, put the book (or whatever) down and just DIG the hell out of it. If you are of an age, do you remember the first time you heard the Average White Band? Yeah, that good. Write into my top 10 albums of the year!” - Andy Sniper
— Music news

“From the rock n roll vibe of ‘Mean Old Dog’ to the sultry undertones of ‘Love’s Got a Hold on Me’, there is something for everyone on this record which is eclectic in nature.”
— Maverick country

“The Durham County Poets are more than just a blues band. They are a collective of talented artists, each well versed in their own field, who combine their influences and styles to create a single cohesive unit capable of some amazing music.” - Terry Parsons
— Toronto blues society

“There is a lot of good music coming out of Canada at the moment and Durham County Poets are riding that wave. ” - Bluesblues.co.uk

“Durham County Poets have delivered a cracking album with 'Out Of The Woods', full of wonderfully tight ensemble playing, clever arrangements, strong songs, great recording values and a palpable sense of fun. Thoroughly recommended.
