Hailing from the high desert mountains of New Mexico, Felix Peralta is a Genizaro singer-songwriter whose expansive sound evokes the spirit of the Southwest. A modern-day troubadour, he blends soulful harmonica melodies with lively accordion rhythms and dynamic guitar picking. With a distinctive style that weaves his Indigenous and Spanish musical heritage into classic blues, country, and Americana, Felix Peralta & the Wild West Blues echo the sound of the frontier.
As the long-time bandleader of Felix y los Gatos, a nationally touring group that blends zydeco and Tejano styles, Peralta represents a new generation of cultural bearers revitalizing the traditional folk music of New Mexico. His song “Comanche Highway” was featured in the PBS documentary *The Genízaro Experience: Shadows in Light,* and in 2020, he performed at the prestigious Kennedy Center's Arts Across America program. He has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Los Lobos, Raul Pacheco of Ozomatli, and Michael Franti, and has recorded with Grammy Award-winning John Popper of Blues Traveler.
