"De Perilla", band born at the end of 2009, cultivates, rescues and updates jazz huachaca, genre invented by one of the most ingenious Parra brothers: Roberto, brother minor of Violeta and Nicanor, revealing its fundamental root, jazz manouche by Django Reinhardt, gypsy-belgian guitarist of French jazz who took effect
between the decades of the 30 and 50.
De Perilla has outstanding participation to date: have participated in the VII Jazz Festival of San Miguel 2014, and in the Theater Concert "Days of Radio in Chile", playing the Swing Hot Quintet of Chile, as band of the Company "Del Salón al Cabaret "directed by the musicologist Juan Pablo González with presentations in the GAM,
in Valparaiso and Temuco. They also have tours to Colombia and Argentina, representing Chile in Festivals dedicated to the icon of gypsy jazz in Europe, the already named guitarist Django Reinhardt (II Django Festival Colombia 2015, XIV Festival International Django Jazz Argentina 2016 and Festival Django Reinhardt Chile 2017).
In addition, from 2014 to date, the band has headed the "Jam Manouche al Aire Free ", gatherings that have gathered other growers of the genre in public spaces of Santiago, such as the Bustamante Park and Plaza Ñuñoa, with free access and great public announcement His first record production, titled 'Jazz Huachaca' was
released with the support of the 2017 Music Fund.
