3 new albums and 12 digital reissues:

a collectors item for fans of the non-genre.

Peter Vermeersch, the no-nonsense artist, clarinetist, saxophonist, keyboardist, composer and producer, seduced many music lovers worldwide with Maximalist! (Igloo + 1984), X-Legged Sally and Flat Earth Society. We could (or should) wait until his death to release the rather pompous "Peter Vermeersch Anthology", and sell millions of cd’s to deeply moved fans. But we don’t. Igloo Records is now releasing 3 unpublished albums, 12 digital reissues, a poster and unseen photos. All this in a beautifully designed cardboard box.
F E S XL S #Thebox includes:

3 unreleased cds

7 cds of Flat Earth Society: Live at the Beursschouwburg, Bonk, Larf, Minoes, Trap, The Armstrong Mutations, Answer Songs

5 cds of X-Legged Sally: Slow Up, Killed by Charity, The Land of the Giant Dwarfs, F.I.R.E.D., Bereft of a Bliss Full Union

+ many extras
A summary of a prolific career through 15 albums, of which 3 unreleased:

Boat & Berg
Flat Earth Society, a speaker and a soprano singing the fate of an iceberg in 1912. From her spectacular birth (it's a she) in Jakobshavn to her unmarked disappearance in the north atlantic ocean, and in between some incident with a luxurious ocean liner. Boat sank, berg melted, the universe will not budge.

Call sheets, Riders & Chicken Mushroom (live recordings 2000-2012)
Flat Earth Society at its best: 15 tracks from 13 live concerts.
With a.o. Jimi Tenor, Uri Caine, Ernst Reijseger, Toots Thielemans, Wim Opbrouck.

How many miles, how many hours of waiting and how many soundchecks go into this live compilation? Forgotten. But playing for all kinds of audiences, each time as if it’s for the first or the last time, often seeking out the danger and embracing coincidences, it stuck. During that 15-year voyage we encountered other musical travelers, joining us for a part of the road. And with a little luck, there was the occasional recording, two tracks, live. The next compilation can be expected around 2030.

X-Legged Sally compilation (1986-1997)
XLS was the first avant-garde jazz-rock group in Belgium and they were the first to slice down this description. 19 tracks have been remastered for this occasion.

After 25 years this compilation comes from the time machine, about the last traces of analog times. Still the music of XLS sounds fresh and unshaven, rowdy and disruptive where it should, hilarious and dark where it could, but always honest and absolutely free. Above all: always.
XLS ran almost every possible musical infection and thus became immune to trends.
Not available on vinyl.
